Born in the Snowy Mountains

Blessington Watches began in 2020 in the small alpine town of Crackenback located in Australia’s Snowy Mountains. Founded by brothers Tane and Tanner Blessington the brand was created with a simple belief that a watch should represent more than time. It should carry identity story and meaning.

Born at an altitude of 1300m above sea level and inspired by the region that shaped our childhood we launched the Snowy Monaro Collection. Selling out in just two weeks it ignited our ambition and validated our vision of creating watches illustrated with Australia in mind. Celebrating local heroes like Ivo and Harro and highlighting places such as Michelago (pictured) and Crackenback, the public response was overwhelming. From a region of just 23,000 people a spider web of support spread across all of Australia. This inspired us to craft collections with meaning and purpose rather than following the niche conceptual archetypes that is prevalent in our industry.

The Sapphire Coast Collection was an adventurous detour into one of the most picturesque regions on Australia’s east coast. A series inspired by coastal oasis getaways, rich cultural heritage, golden sandy beaches and the spectacular sight of breaching sea creatures. We chose this location because of its raw cultural roots and the stories that define the region. One of our favourites is the legend of Old Tom, the killer whale at eden who famously worked in harmony with local whalers to help herd whales into Twofold Bay. It is a story that captures the spirit of connection and respect that we wanted our watches to embody.

From a design perspective the timepieces carried a robust structured form with a sweeping half ring on the dial symbolising the coastline itself. The variations each named after their respective towns showcased bright sun dials that echoed the vivid colours of the region. Powered by a reliable chronograph quartz movement the collection blended strong design with practical performance.

The Sapphire Coast Collection remains a beloved chapter in our brands history. Although it has been discontinued for now it is a collection that may one day return. Never say never.

The big three Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. The metropolises where dreams are made. A crowd favourite among our early releases was the Originals Collection. A pivotal step towards the design direction we follow today. With elements of aggressive structural form, dual pattern detailing and sleek finishing components we crafted a timepiece that captured the complex fast moving and premium environments of these cities.

This collection became a true testament to our growing craftsmanship capabilities and quickly established itself as a staple of the company. At the beginning of 2024 it was formally discontinued not due to lack of demand but because it was destined for a complete redesign and eventual relaunch. The Originals Collection remains an important chapter in our journey marking the moment we gained the confidence and skill to take our designs to a new level.

A spotlight on the wild side of Australia the Gold Coast is a paradise of culture, lifestyle and sun with the ever present shadow of corporate growth shaping its skyline. It was here that the birth of our trademark dial designs truly began. For the first time we crafted dials that directly illustrated the culture, personality and namesake of each timepiece in the collection.

The Surfers Paradise model pictured was a perfect example. Its dial incorporated the nostalgic patterns of a classic boardwalk surf shop blended with the warm hues and contrasts of the Gold Coast’s iconic waters. The result was a timepiece with broad appeal, a casual, yet striking design that resonated with customers from all walks of life.

Discontinued in 2024 the Gold Coast Collection remains a cherished chapter in our story. It stands as a beautiful milestone and a crucial stepping stone in defining our company identity and laying the foundation for the bold, expressive and distinctly Australian designs we are known for today.

The magnum opus. The year 2023 marked a pivotal moment for our brand and our collections. The Wildlife Collection sparked a journey that celebrated the incredible fauna that outnumber us in droves and remain an integral part of our national identity. It became a long and ongoing pursuit of perfection and creative expression. It reshaped the direction of our company forever.

The Wildlife Collection ignited a passionate community built by watch enthusiasts and wildlife lovers who connected deeply with its purpose. It grew into something far greater than a simple range of timepieces. It became a movement of people who believed in storytelling through design and who valued the spirit of Australian wildlife as part of their own identity.

Our most loved collection continues to push us to reach for the stars as we work to manage community expectations and feedback about its future. Through multiple redesigns and new versions the support we have received has been nothing short of extraordinary. We appreciate every single person who has been part of making this journey possible and we look forward to creating the next chapter together.

Our last venture to the area that started it all, for one reason rather than multiple. The region lost a local Legend, Harro, who was apart of our first collection and our lives. A man who had a big impact on the local community, who spent his time serving said community and the thousands who travelled there each year. This piece was a tribute, Man of the Ocean and A Man Of The Mountain, these words etched onto his tribute plaque and forever etched into history. we feature an ambitious actual satellite depiction of the snowy mountains in which his familyworked and live. a special edition collection that is stamped in our timeline, and will not be forgotten

2025 marked a major step forward for Blessington with growing expansion into the USA, Europe and Asia. As the brand reached more customers around the world it became clear that our designs and storytelling were resonating far beyond Australia. This was a defining moment in our journey from a small Australian brand into one with a growing global presence.

OUR MISSION

The watch industry is tough nut to crack, but 5+ years have past and we are proud to see how far we’ve come. We continue to grow from strength to strength and all we have to thank is YOU. Our goals have changed since we started and our brand identity is constantly evolving. As of now, we recogonise that we want to continue to showcase and display our appreciation for our amazing country, creating collections that celebrate the places, people and wildlife that are crucial to our identity. A huge part of the Brand is people, whether its the collections and timepieces named in their honor, or you. We have come to realise that you are as crucial to this brand as we are. We appreciate the comments, emails and suggestions you send our way. We have listened before and we will continue too. This is our mission, to grow together, celebrate our individuality, showcase our country and culture to the world through a vessel as old as time. We promise to create timepieces more special than the previous, we have very exciting collections in the works and we can’t wait to share them with you. This brand isn’t just for Australian’s, it is for those who share our love of culture, wildlife, community and having a fair go.
